Walking through my mind
I have relinquished the real
Thoughts flicker like snow
I forget how to feel
Flashes bring back to life
Ghosts of those I have lost
They whisper to me
From pages of frost
Regret is the lock
That traps me in my mind
Yearning for something
I can never find
I search icy shelves
Finding souls from my past
All stuck within tomes
Each heavier than the last
Set aside in my library
Past and present unfold
In an archive of memories
Fading into the cold
All spirits here
Including mine are lost
The truth is loneliness
No matter the cost
It’s been a while since I have posted anything. Life has been busy. I am continuing to work on The Nights Ahead. Please be patient. In the mean time, here’s a poem.
